Mother of 10-year old murdered in Youngstown says she wants peace
The mother of Persayus Chanell Davis, the 10-year-old who was murdered during a bloody night in the city of Youngstown, says she just wants the violence to stop.
Kristina May said she's been crying all day and just wants answers as to what was behind the shootings that left two people dead, including her daughter, and left four others wounded early Wednesday on the city's south side.
Davis was inside a house on Samuel Street when she was shot, along with three other people who were shot outside the home.
That shooting happened less than ten minutes after police responded to a crash on South Avenue and Palmer Avenue where 40-year-old Michael Callahan was found dead with gunshot wounds. Another person in the vehicle was also shot and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
May said she doesn't know what was behind the violence, but said she has nine children and that she'd never be a part of anything that could put them in danger.
May said she wants the violence in the city to stop and that her son has expressed interest in organizing some kind of "peace walk."
