Cedar Point announces Wicked Twister closing forever
The park announced Friday that Wicked Twister will close permanently on Sept. 6.
Cedar Point is saying goodbye to one of its major roller coasters.
The park announced Friday that Wicked Twister will close permanently on Sept. 6.
The park said in a statement that the ride will be removed and the area will be used for "future park improvements."
The park says more details about Wicked Twister's final day of operation will be announced at a later date.
When Wicked Twister opened back in 2002 it was described as "the world's first record-breaking, double-impulse, five-time-LIM motor-launching, screeching teal and sunburst yellow steel behemoth,"
Park officials say Wicked Twister has given more than 16 million rides to happy park goers.
