A parking guide for the cultural events in Youngstown this weekend
It will be a big weekend in downtown Youngstown and if you're planning on coming downtown you need to know where to park.
After a year off, the Summer Festival of the Arts is back this weekend at a brand new venue.
Wean Park will be the host of the 23rd annual Summer Festival of the Arts and if you're planning on coming downtown, there's plenty of parking options available.
"Parking is available in all of the Covelli Centre lots, it's free. There's lots of parking around even over by Phelps Street and Hazel street parking. We will not have a lack of parking and it's all free," says Lori Factor with the Summer Festival of the Arts.
The free parking at the Covelli Centre will be your closest option and is directly next to Wean Park.
There are several lots and on-street parking options along Front, Boardman, Federal, and Commerce Streets that will be open. All on-street parking is free, but most private lots will charge their standard fees of around 5 dollars.
There are detours around Fifth Avenue as construction continues and Phelps Street is completely blocked off due to ongoing construction.
If you're planning to go to the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church Summer Fest on Walnut Street, there's free parking available behind Choffin Career Center and parking options available along Wood Street.
