Ohio State Senator Matt Dolan is touring the state looking to determine whether or not he'll enter the race for U.S. Senate as a Republican.

He wants Ohioans to know that job success is available, whatever avenue they wish to take.

So his first stop in the Valley was at Flying High Incorporated, a place that helps people find jobs or turn their lives around.

"When I travel the state I'm listening to folks," said Dolan. "But I also want to tell them that we are creating a state that is hopefully going to be, have economic viability and job creation," he said.

With the race jam packed with Republican candidates, Dolan believes he'll stand out in the crowd.

"I am the only candidate, or potential candidate if you will, that has legislative experience and success with that experience," Dolan said.

Dolan's potential competitiors are jockeying for endorsements from former president Donald Trump and while he does agree with some of Trump's decisions, he does not believe an endorsement from him will be a determining factor in the race.

"If the issue is what is good for Ohio then a lot of what President Trump did was good for Ohio, it was good for the Mahoning Valley and those are the legislative achievements that I want to continue if I were to go to Washington," said Dolan. "Any behavior issues sometimes rubbed me the wrong way with the President and one thing the president he is loud he is brash, the former president, but he got things done," he said.

Dolan says he's pro business, pro growth, and that while he's touring, he's looking for the endorsement of Ohioans who have the same attitude he does toward fighting for the state.

"What I don't like is just candidates who are loud and brash but have no success behind their noise. So, if you want somebody that can help grow America like if we were growing under President Trump, yeah then you should look to me," Dolan said.

Dolan says he will continue to engage with citizens statewide and with the exploratory committee's persmission, possibly begin fundraising.
