Austintown house fire and 90-degree heat send firefighter to hospital
The combination of heat from the fire, heavy working gear, and the 90-degree outdoor temperatures were the likely reason one firefighter needed to be taken to the hospital.

Temperatures reaching past 90 degrees in the Valley and the heat of a house fire sent one firefighter in Austintown to the hospital.
Fire crews responded to the call for a house fire on Rome Drive just before 7 p.m.
No one was in the home at the time of the fire but the structure was significantly damaged.
The Austintown Fire Chief said the combination of heat from the fire, heavy working gear, and the 90-degree outdoor temperatures were the likely reason one firefighter needed to be taken to the hospital.
The firefighter is expected to be okay but their condition is unknown at this time.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
