Ohio environmental group wants investigation into salt brine use

An Ohio environmental group wants county prosecutors and the Ohio Attorney General to investigate the use of salt brine on Ohio public roads.
Brine is used as a deicer.
Members of the Ohio Community Rights Network say they have evidence that the brine is radioactive and a danger to water supplies.
On Friday, the group delivered letters to nine county prosecuting attorneys and the Ohio Attorney General's Office demanding investigations be opened.
One of the members of that group delivered a letter to Mahoning County Prosecutor, Paul Gains.
"There are laws that say if people knowingly poison waterways it's like a terrorist activity," said board member, Susie Beiersdorfer.
The Ohio Community Rights Network says there are two bills in the Ohio legislature right now that would make salt brine, which is a byproduct of fracking, a commodity that can be bought and sold.
