Report: Teen's dispute over Oreos leads to Warren mom being jailed
A fight over Oreo cookies that landed a teenager in the hospital also landed his mother behind bars.
Brandy Carnahan, 40, of Warren was booked into the Trumbull County jail Wednesday morning on four counts of child endangering.
Carnahan is charged because of an incident earlier this month at her Clermont Avenue NE home where police were called to investigate a cutting incident.
One of Carnahan’s 14-year-old sons told police that he was cut on the leg after getting into an argument with his twin brother over Oreo cookies.
Carnahan’s 21-year-old daughter told police that she came to the house because her mother refused to come home and take care of the twins, as well as a 16-year-old brother and 11-year-old daughter.
The daughter told officers that her siblings often go days without properly dressing and are left home for long periods of time. She said she bought a pizza because there was no food in the house.
The wounded boy was taken to the hospital for treatment,
A warrant for Carnahan’s arrest was issued one day after police were at the home. However, an arrest wasn’t made until Wednesday. Her arraignment is scheduled for Thursday.
