YPD, mayor honor organizations for helping strengthen community relations
Several organizations were honored Tuesday morning for their work with the Youngstown Police Department on improving community relations within the city.
Chief Carl Davis as well as Mayor Tito Brown recognized Victoria Allen of ICU Blockwatch, Giannios Candy, Rocco Nolfi of All State Insurance and Youngstown Plant and Flower.
"Their civic leadership is an example for all of us to follow and embodies the Youngstown Police Department's motto of 'Pride, Committment and Service'," said Chief Carl Davis.
He said these people and organizations have given back to the community to help improve the quality of life for its citizens.
"We must continue to have these partners engaged and involved in what we're doing because I think it makes a difference," said Mayor Brown. "It's making an impact and people appreciate that."
