Callen Aulizia, a 2018 graduate of the Boardman High School swim program and now a member of the United States Naval Academy, qualified for the 2021 Olympic Trials in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 23.11 in long course meters.
"Where is career is in swimming and where he's a college student, this was his last chance," said Carlo Cordon, his high school coach at Boardman, in reference to the Olympic trials.
The trials are in Omaha, Nebraska beginning June 4. The top two finishers in each event will move on to the Olympic Games being held in Tokyo, Japan.
While swimming at Boardman, Callen was an All-American in the 50-Yard Freestyle, a 4-year Ohio High School State qualifier and continues to hold four school records.
