Another candidate has entered the Youngstown Mayoral race.

Richard Hill filed to run as an Independent candidate on Friday.

Hill says he wants to see a change when it comes to Youngstown's poverty rate, crime rate, and the way tax dollars are spent.

"MY NUMBER ONE THING IS TO CREATE CIVIC INFRASTRUCTURE AND THAT'S PREDICATED ON THREE PRINCIPALS. IT'S CRIME PREVENTION, IMPROVING PUBLIC SERVICES, AND FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY," said Hill.

Hill is a lifelong resident of Youngstown graduating from Cardinal Mooney and Youngstown State University.

He currently works as a local criminal traffic supervisor at the Youngstown Municipal Clerk of Courts and is also an insurance broker.

The last date to file as a candidate in the general election is May 3 at 4 p.m.
