New dog park planned for Firestone Park in Columbiana
Plans for a new dog park are underway in Columbiana and this Saturday, May 1, there will be a community event to fundraise for the Firestone Dog Park.
Some of the vendors that will be there include All Paws Are Perfect Rescue, Blue Ribbon Chiropractic, Funky Punky Cotton Candy, and many more.
The goal is to support local businesses while raising funds for the park.
The event is free to the public and people are encouraged to bring their dogs to join in.
The fundraiser will run from 11 a.m until 2 p.m.
All proceeds collected on Saturday will go directly to the building of the 1-acre park.
So far, the park has saved a little over $20,000 and the goal is $80,000.
The Firestone Dog Park Committee will continue more events through the summer culminating at the Columbiana Craft Beer Festival on October 9 at Firestone Farms.
