Mount Union baseball coach Paul Hesse reached the 500-win plateau Sunday.

His Purple Raiders swept Capital, 7-5, 3-0.

Hesse is in his 25th season as the skipper for Mount Union and is the winningest coach in program history.

In 2017, The longtime skipper led the Purple Raiders to their first OAC Regular Season title since 1970.  He also led the program to its first ever NCAA tournament appearance in 2013.

Both of those milestones could very well be in the cards this year as Mount Union is 20-6 on the season, and 18-6 in conference play.

The Purple Raiders have won seven straight games, will host Wilmington next Saturday
