A homeless man with a lengthy arrest record remained in the Trumbull County Jail on Tuesday after allegedly telling deputies he had permission to “rid a house of demons.”

Daniel Pigg, 38, was arrested early Friday after residents told investigators they found him outside their Richmond Avenue home in Newton Township.

A homeowner said that a man identifying himself as “Mark Angel” told him he wanted to “rid the house of demons.”

The visitor left but returned after the homeowner left.

This time “Mark Angel” was on the home’s porch asking a woman to let him inside. When a relative of the woman arrived, the visitor left.

A deputy found a man fitting the visitor's description on the next street and arrested him for trespassing.

Pigg, who, according to court records, is homeless, told the deputy he had permission to rid the house of demons and would return once he was released from jail.

During Monday’s hearing in Newton Falls Municipal Court, Pigg pleaded not guilty and is scheduled for another court hearing next month.

According to online records, Pigg has been booked into the Trumbull County Jail 23 times since 2004.

In March, the Trumbull County Grand Jury indicted Pigg for aggravated drug possession.
