The City of Niles has been awarded an emergency grant to replace two water valves.

Niles was awarded the grant through the $200,000 Ohio Public Works Commission.

The funding will be used to replace two 24-inch water valves to help upgrade the city's aged public water system.

The project is estimated to cost $395,000, with the remaining amount coming from the local match.

The city expects the project to begin in June.
