State troopers say they continue to investigate a head-on crash that injured two adults and two children in Austintown.

The patrol says two SUV’s collided on State Route 46 between Kirk Road and Shields Road just before 8 a.m. Friday.

According to troopers, 26-year-old Dylan Walters was driving a Chevy Equinox that went left of center, striking a GMC Acadia being driven by 42-year-old Jessica Kohler of Canfield.

Both vehicles landed in a ditch.

Both drivers were taken to Mercy Hospital in Youngstown where Kohler is reported in critical condition and Walters is in stable condition.

Two of Walters’ passengers, both children, were taken to Akron Children’s Hospital in Akron. Jane Walters, age 7, is in critical condition and 5-year-old Aiden Walters is in stable condition.

The drivers were not wearing seatbelts. The children were properly restrained, according to troopers.
