Woman babysitting Sharon toddlers charged with DUI, drug paraphernalia
Brookfield Police have charged a Sharon woman they say was driving impaired with two toddlers in her car.
Acting on a tip, police say they stopped a hatchback outside the Circle K on Irvine Avenue late Monday morning.
The driver, 31-year-old Abagail Boles, appeared to be intoxicated and had a white powder around a nostril, according to police. The report says Boles told the officer that the powder was fentanyl she had snorted the night before.
Also in the car were a 50-year-old man from Sharon, as well as two three-year-old children who Boles said she was watching for a friend.
Police say Boles had a baggie with suspected methamphetamine residue inside and underwent a field sobriety test.
Boles was booked into the county jail on two counts of child endangering, DUI, possessing drug paraphernalia, and driving with a suspended license.
The children were turned over to their mother, who told police that Boles was not supposed to have taken them anywhere.
