Campbell man accused of raping 79-year-old to undergo mental health assessment
A Mahoning County judge has ordered a mental health assessment for a Campbell man accused of raping a 79-year-old woman.
Anthony Consiglio, 26, entered a plea of not guilty by reason of insanity Monday to accompany a previously entered not guilty plea, according to Judge Scott Krichbaum's court.
Krichbaum also ordered a mental health assessment for Consiglio to be conducted at the Mahoning County jail. Consiglio will be held at the jail without bond.
U.S. Marshals arrested Consiglio on Feb. 18. He is accused of raping and assaulting a 79-year-old woman on Jan. 24, according to an indictment from the Mahoning County Grand Jury. He then allegedly stole her phone and cash.
Consiglio has since been indicted on charges including rape, attempted rape, aggravated robbery, robbery and theft from a person in a protected class.
