WRTA buses to only pickup and drop off at designated stops starting Monday

WRTA is changing its pickup policy in April.
According to the release, passengers will be picked up and dropped off at officially designated bus stops along WRTA Fixed Routes.
The change will take effect Monday, April 5.
WRTA officials say the primary focus for the new rule was safety.
"The primary motivation for this new policy is safety," said WRTA Executive Director Dean Harris. "A rider is put in an unsafe position when he or she attempts to board a bus from an area where it's not safe for a bus to stop. And when a bus unexpectedly stops at a location not marked by a bus stop, it can pose a danger to the traffic immediately around that bus."
All stops along WRTA Fixed Routes are marked by signs and placed in intervals.
Each bus stop can also be located by using the WRTA myStop app that shows the locations of every bus stop on WRTA routes.
