Sunshine and warm weather have lasting impacts on our health

If you were out this afternoon you know that plenty of people took advantage of the warmest day of 2021.
Plenty of people packed the car washes or got a walk or jog in, and even a little bit of rain didn't stop anyone from enjoying it.
We spoke to some experts about how the warmer weather will impact your health.
It's the time of the year that we start thinking spring.
"I think one of the most profound impacts it has is that it symbolizes in many ways a transition for us," says Therapist Dr. Rachel O'Neill.
The warmer weather and increased sunshine that is coming our way have more impacts on our health than one may think.
"It tends to lift our mood. We tend to feel a little bit more hopeful, we tend to feel a little bit more relaxed, less stressed or happy because we are starting to feel like things are changing a bit," says O'Neill.
O'Neill adds there are easy ways for one to begin to shed that seasonal depression one may have felt over the winter.
"Having that outside time can be really helpful to improve mood, to give us access to fresh air, and to get us out of our environment. Many of us might be stuck at home right now where we might not be out as much as we were then previous times so just being outside for a little while can be extremely helpful for our mood. "
