Fatal car crash closes part of South Ave. in Youngstown

One person is dead after a single-car crash on South Avenue in Youngstown.

The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. on South Avenue near Samuel Avenue.

Police say a vehicle flipped over and crashed after apparently striking a pole.

One man was inside the vehicle, and police say he has since died.

Police and the fire department are still working on getting him out of the vehicle.

Ohio Edison is also on scene.

South Avenue is closed while the scene is being cleared.
