Trumbull Co. beginning vaccine registration for 80 and older

Chief George Snyder, Burghill Vernon Fire Department, discussed their 1B plan for those 80 years and older and said that the vaccine is limited.
Snyder said that the rollout would go as follows:
- Beginning next week, Jan. 19: 80 years and older may receive the vaccine.
- Week of Jan. 25: 75 years and older, and those with severe congenital or developmental disorders.
- Week of Feb. 1: Age 70 and older and employees of K-12 schools.
- Week of Feb. 8: Age 65 and older.
Snyder said that people need to be patient, as the limited quantities will take some time to vaccinate all those who wish to receive it.
The Trumbull County Combined Health District prefers those who can register online at the health district website.
Trumbull County Health Commissioner Frank Migliozzi announced the county plan to distribute the COVID-19 vaccination process on Thursday, Jan .14.
During the media conference, Migliozzi shared the information for distributing the vaccine.
1,100 doses will be received next week.
The clinic will be drive-through, only for those who are registered and confirmed. Go online to tcchd.org to register, or call 330-675-7844. They asked you to leave your name, date of birth, and phone number, and they will return your call.
Giant Eagle pharmacies in Trumbull County will also be offering the vaccine, but you must call the pharmacy to make an appointment and see availability. Those include the Giant Eagle 4700 Belmont Ave. 330-759-9348; 2700 Mahoning Ave, NW, 330-395-0505; 2061 Elm road, Warren 330-372-7003; 8202 E, Market St., 330-856-1324; 7229 Warren-Sharon Rd., 330-448-6480; and 48 Vienna Ave., 330-652-2158.
John May, Trumbull County Health Department, said shall 330-841-2596 to schedule for a vaccine at 258 E. Market St. Warren or go online to tcchd.org for additional information.
Dr. John Kravac said that Mercy Health would conduct vaccination clinics at the Howland Medical clinic and the Youngstown and North Lima Facilities. Call for appointments at 1-866-624-0366. Kravac also said that the Mercy Health website would have additional information at mercy.com and click on the COVID bar.
Trumbull Regional Medical Center will hold its vaccination clinic starting Tuesday, at 1350 E. Market St., Warren. Reservations are required; call 330-841-9999 beginning Friday at 8:30 a.m.
The vaccine is a two-shot vaccine, and anyone receiving the shot will receive a reminder vaccine card to come back for the second shot.
Those going for the vaccine must follow the Ohio COVID guidelines, with masks and social distancing.
How and where to get vaccinated will vary depending on where you live. A provider search will be available at coronavirus.ohio.gov beginning today, Jan. 14, allowing Ohioans to search by county, ZIP code, and category to find a provider in their area to administer the vaccine.
