The Leetonia Fire Department is collecting goods for families who lost everything when flames destroyed two homes on Monday·

The fire station at 300 East Main Street is serving as a collection center for donations to help the families get back on their feet.

As of Wednesday, donors had dropped off clothing, shoes, household items.

According to a post on the fire department’s Facebook page, it is not only citizens and churches from Leetonia, but people from surrounding communities are also making donations.

A benefit event is being organized for January 9th at the Tipsy Cow on Madison Street in Leetonia. Information will be shared on the Leetonia Fire Department’s Facebook page.
