Former Youngstown Councilman Artis Gilliam Sr. dead at 78

Funeral arrangements are pending for former Youngstown City Councilman Artis Gilliam Sr. who passed away, according to the Buckeye Review.
Serving as a city councilman in the 1st Ward from 2000-2007, Gilliam was a business owner, having recently launched G’s Tire and Lube.
Gilliam attended The Rayen School and North High School, graduating in 1961. He was president and CEO of Artis’s Tender Loving Care, a female group home.
“His passing leaves a huge hole in our hearts and we are saddened beyond words. Youngstown Ohio will long miss Artis Gilliam Sr., city father, husband, family man, and friend. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family and the community. We will all greatly miss him.,” wrote Buckeye Review co-publishers Linda and Dr. Mike McNair.
Artis Gilliam Sr. was 78.
