YCSD, local organizations distributing food ahead of Thanksgiving
A team of Youngstown organizations is coming together to distribute meals and help local families.
The Youngstown City School District, Loud 102.3, the City of Youngstown, the Youngstown Community Initiative to Reduce Violence, and The Light Church are coming together to distribute the food.
The group will distribute turkeys to the first 100 people at the East High School parking lot at 3 p.m. on November 23.
The Light Church will also have a Bags of Blessing giveaway Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. at East High School. The church is planning to give out 250 bags of groceries.
Students at Paul C. Bunn that were selected from staff referrals will be given a Thanksgiving meal to take home on Tuesday. Pick up is scheduled for 3 to 4 p.m.
Taft elementary will also have a food distribution Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m.
