Trumbull County small businesses can apply to get their share of $750,000 to help them through the coronavirus pandemic.

Businesses within the county that meet certain requirements can apply for grants up to $10,000.

Trumbull County commissioners approved the money from the Federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act on Wednesday.

"So this is just a shot in the arm for our Trumbull County businesses. We're just really pleased to have voted on this today," said Trumbull County Commissioner Dan Polivka. "All three commissioners supported it. We're excited about it, and we hope that it will help many small businesses."

The money can be used for pandemic-related expenses incurred from March 01, 2020 through December 11, 2020. If a business has suffered a 35 percent drop in revenue during the months of March, April, May and June as compared to 2019, the following expenses are eligible as well: mortgage costs, rent or lease costs and expenses for utilities.

The county partnered with Valley Economic Development Partners for the application process.
