The Premier bank tower in Downtown Youngstown will go dark for a few days but will shine brighter and sometimes in different colors when the lights are switched back on.

Crews are installing a dynamic LED lighting system on top of what was once known as the Home Savings and Loan Tower.

The landmark tower will go dark for 2 to 3 weeks as CR Electric rewires and installs new fixtures.

The clock will remain lit throughout this part of the project.

However, the faces of the clock will also be receiving a facelift with new, brighter LED lamps, which may require up to two days of downtime.

The current soft white lamps will be replaced with a whiter lamp to coincide with a new look of the Premier Bank signs.

Once the project is complete, Premier Bank will be able to change the colors and intensity of the lights that shine upon the tower to support local events, such as holidays.
