Champion Township police officer Robert Koehler has been placed on probation for two years after pleaded guilty earlier to charges of unauthorized use of property Tuesday morning.

Koehler, 62, was convicted on 16 counts of unauthorized use of computer and telecommunications property.

Investigators say Koehler misused the Ohio Law Enforcement Gateway system between May 2015 and July 2017.

The 34-year veteran of the Champion Township Police Department previously served as a part-time chief for both Craig Beach and West Farmington.
