A lot of restaurants have been struggling for months because of the pandemic, but there's a new place in Howland Township that's opening up and plans to stay that way.

The Living Room Tavern on East Market Street hosted its grand opening Sunday afternoon.

The VIP event featured music, food, and cocktails.

The restaurant's four owners said they have worked in the business long enough to know what works and what doesn't and believe their new place will be successful.

"It's a challenge, but, you know, we're used to challenges. This business every day is a challenge, so we're used to that, we never plan for that," said co-owner Ottavio Musumeci. "You know, we make it happen, and it makes us stronger."

The new restaurant is owned and operated by Ottavio Musumeci, Serdar Dede, Sedat Olgun and Armond Nannicola.

Musumeci already owns Station Square Restaurant, while Dede owns Cafe 422.

The group wanted to get together and be a part of a new brand as well.

"I think all three of us were just bored cause we didn't have enough things to do," said Nannicola. "We wanted to serve the community and have a lot of fun."

The Living Room Tavern has open area seating and an outdoor patio and bar.

It offers a modern menu complimented by our extensive craft beer, wine, cocktail, and bourbon list.
