Democrats were quick to blast Trump's visit to Ohio even before the President set foot in the buckeye state. Their ciriticism targeted Trump's record on manufacturing.

Before the coronavirus America had one of it's best economies ever and unemployment was near record lows.
But after the coronavrius that all changed. Ohio democrats are putting the blame entirely on President Trump.

"Once again we've got Trump coming to the state trying to fool Ohio into thinking that our economy is doing well, when in fact, again, it's terrible right now because of the horrible response to the covid crisis," said Ohio Democrat Part Chairman, David Pepper.

Congresswoman, Marcy Kaptur, said, "The President said he was going to 'restore things' at Lordstown. He literally cut back battery research, all of the important storage facilities that have to be a part of a new energy economy that is vehicular."

That's what Ohio Democrats were saying in a Zoom press conference before the President's visit today.

While Trump won Ohio in 2016 by 8% experts believe it will be much closer this year, possibly making Ohio an all important battleground state once again.
A recent poll from Your Voice Ohio has Biden Leading Trump by 4 points among registered voters with a margin or error of plus or minus 3%.

Kent State political science professor, Chris Banks, says polls can be misleading.

"He did it once before when no one expected him to win. If he has anything positive going for him he's the President. He has a large bully pulpit, he can command the media. he can direct things with executive orders.," said banks.

Banks says Trump is likely looking forward to the debates where he can play more to his base.
