Report: Struthers woman punched while training worker at Astro Shapes
A warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Youngstown man accused of assaulting a fellow employee at the Astro Shapes plant in Struthers.
Police have charged 28-year-old Eddie Crook Jr. with felonious assault for an incident that allegedly occurred early Saturday.
According to a police report, officers were called to Astro Shapes at around 3 a.m. where they found a 33-year-old woman with blood on her face, hands, and shirt.
Witnesses told police that Crook punched the woman in the face after she corrected him several times as she was training him to operate a machine at the plant.
The police report says Crook, who was from a temporary employment agency, left the plant after the incident.
An ambulance took the woman to the Mercy Hospital Trauma Unit for treatment of her injuries. A relative of the victim told police she required surgery for a broken jaw and face fracture.
Crook was out of prison on parole following a 2012 conviction for aggravated robbery.
