A Warren mother is facing charges after police say she stole merchandise from a Giant Eagle leading to an investigation that found her child had been left alone in a car and the discovery of a "drug kit."

Jennifer Paden, 40, was identified and arrested in the incident that happened Saturday at the Giant Eagle on Mahoning Avenue.

According to a police report, an off duty officer working security at was alerted that a woman had gone through a self-checkout lane and had items in her bag she did not pay for.

When questioned the woman later identified as Paden, was found to have makeup items in her bag that she did not purchase and agreed to pay for them said police.

While being questioned Paden gave police multiple false identities according to reports.

Police say they were then told that there was a child left unattended in a vehicle in the parking lot that was later identified to be Padden's

According to the report while searching Paden's car police found a drug kit containing hypodermic needles.

A man who was with Paden had been in the car, but left the child and could not be immediately located. 

Padden was also identified as a fugitive from the city of Niles

Paden was booked at the Trumbull County Jail on possession of drug instruments and theft charges. 

Trumbull County Children Services was also notified of the incident
