Troopers seize nearly 9 pounds of cocaine in Braceville

An Illinois woman is being held in the Mahoning County jail after State Troopers say they caught her driving along the Ohio Turnpike carrying nearly nine pounds of cocaine.
According to an affidavit, on Tuesday the Ohio State Highway Patrol stopped an SUV for a traffic violation along the eastbound lanes of the turnpike in Braceville Township.
The driver, 32-year-old Tashe Goins told the trooper she was driving from Chicago to Pittsburgh.
The trooper says after a police canine alerted him to the possible presence of drugs in the SUV, a search turned up a suitcase containing approximately four kilograms of cocaine, according to the affidavit.
Goins has been charged with distribution and possession with intent to distribute controlled substances.
During a video hearing on Thursday, Federal Magistrate George Limbert sent the case to a grand jury and ordered that she be held in custody of the U.S. Marshal until a detention hearing next week.
