Operator of Kay, Zales, Jared, plans 300 store closures

The operators of several jewelry store chains announced closing plans that include 300 stores in the U.S.
Signet, which operates Kay, Zales, and Jared stores revealed in a quarterly report that it will close 150 stores by the end of the year.
In addition, Signet announced another 150 stores closed during the coronavirus pandemic will not be reopened.
Signet, which has not yet revealed which stores are closing, says the closings are a move to make operations more efficient.
Kay’s jewelers have Valley locations the Eastwood Mall in Niles as well as Summit Square in Calcutta. The Austintown and Southern Park Mall stores are listed as "temporarily closed".
Zales operates in both the Eastwood and Southern Park Malls.
Jared has a store on Market Street in Boardman
The retailer operates over 2,900 stores in all 50 states primarily under the name brands of Kay Jewelers, Zales, Jared The Galleria Of Jewelry, and Piercing Pagoda
