Trumbull County Fairgrounds to host 'Food Frenzy'

The Trumbull County Fair Board is working to salvage the fair experience after deciding to call off this year’s event.
The board announced last month it would not hold the fair this summer due to coronavirus concerns.
People can still sample fries, lemon shakes, and other fair food favorites when the Trumbull County Fairgrounds hosts two “Fair Food Frenzy” weekends this month.
The Canfield Fair is hosting a similar Fair Food Extravaganza this coming Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The first Trumbull County event, featuring drive-thru access to popular food vendors, will be held on Friday, June 12, from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m., and Saturday, June 13, 2020, from noon until 7 pm.
The second frenzy is scheduled on June 26 and 27
Fair food fans will stay in their cars, entering at Gate A on Hoagland Blackstub Road and exit at Gate C.
There will be no charge for admission.
Also, Trumbull County Commissioners say the fair board is working to recognize local 4H participants. The latter will not get a chance to exhibit their animals due to the cancelation of the fair.
Commissioners say out of 90 4H projects involving animals, 22 of those animals are not sold. Pictures of those animals would be posted for sale on Facebook.
Among the other ideas being discussed is a “mini-fair,” where the fair board would work with county health officials to create an event with proper sanitization and social distancing.
