Just one day after the state saw both The Ohio State Fair and the Trumbull County Fair cancel their plans for 2020, the next question was pretty clear: What about the Canfield Fair?

Canfield Fair Spokesperson George Roman said, "As of right now, we are still going forward with the Sept. 1 opening day. The governor has not entirely scratched fair from opening as of now, so we're planning and proceeding as we normally would."

Even so, the state's biggest county fair could look a lot different, especially from an entertainment standpoint.

"It's not only us finding entertainment," Roman added. "But is the entertainment willing to come out at the caliber we would like to present here at the Canfield Fair."

While the fair board waits on guidance from the governor, plans are being put in place.

"We have to order products ourselves and we got to have cleaning supplies here, so those are all things we're discussing," Roman said. "Whether we're going to have all our gates open, maybe a different aspect to it so that we can narrow the amount of people coming in at one time."

Vendors are also a big part of the Canfield Fair, seeing one on every corner. Under circumstances like these, when people are less likely to go, how will they fare?

Molnar's Owner Faith McGee says the fair is crucial to business.

"The Canfield Fair is such a large county fair that we all depend on that volume, so we all get a little bit of the pie. With the unemployment as high as it is, the virus still out there, I don't know what the attendance is going to be."
