The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported 885 new coronavirus cases in the state Monday.

That increase moves the state's total cases to 42,050.

The death toll of COVID-19 continues to grow with Pennsylvania reporting an additional 47 deaths.

The 47 new deaths makes the state total 1,597.

Cases in local counties remain low with Mercer County having 65 cases and one death and Lawrence County reporting 63 cases and five deaths.

More than 161,000 Pennsylvanians have tested negative for the coronavirus.

The virus continues to be more prominent in those 25 and older with 92 percent of cases appearing in that age range.

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf has announced that he plans to reopen the state's economy in the coming weeks using a regional approach.
