The Trumbull County Coroner says no foul play was involved in the death of a county jail inmate being held for a shooting. Meanwhile, a search of the North Bristol property where the shooting occurred is expected to continue.

Milton Kurtzman, 71, died in his jail cell one week ago today, less than 24 hours after his arrest the previous evening.

The coroner told 21 News that Kurtzman’s death was due to natural causes.

Kurtzman was being held on a charge of felonious assault for shooting the man he shared a home with on the 1300 block of Hyde Oakfield Road in North Bristol.

State and local investigators have been searching the property, using heavy machinery to dig in some locations.

Trumbull County Chief Deputy Joseph Dragovich has not revealed the object of the search, telling 21 News that he doesn’t want to say if they are looking for human remains or some kind of object such as stolen property.

Dragovich, who says the search of the property may resume next week, said the victim of the shooting at the home is still recovering from his wounds.
