Families in three Valley communities may be happy to know that their children won’t be deprived of seeing the Easter Bunny because of social distancing being practiced during the coronavirus pandemic.

The big bunny plans to visit the cities of Sharon, Pennsylvania as well as Cortland and Canfield, Ohio on Saturday.

SHARON

Attorney Ryan Mergl says Sharon area businesses have come together to make sure City children get a visit from the Easter Bunny while they are stuck at home. This Saturday the Easter Bunny will drive down every street in town to make sure each child receives a greeting.

"It's important to keep things as normal as possible for our children during this time," said Mergl, one of the event organizers. "Many of the children in our community didn't get to visit the Easter Bunny this year. So I called him up and he said he'd come to visit them."

Starting at 11:00 am, the Easter Bunny will be joining community businesses for a mini-'parade'.

"During this time of social distancing, we couldn't do a traditional parade. So, we decided to gather just enough businesses to draw attention so the kids can hear us coming," added TJ Burke, who volunteered his Penn-Ohio Exterior Cleaning truck for the Bunny to ride in the back.

"Everyone must follow social distancing guidelines and stay with their families on their porches. We cannot have families gathering together on the street. Please greet the Easter Bunny from a distance and enjoy your visit!" said Attorney Mergl.

Starting at 11 am the bunny's approximate schedule:

  • 11-11:30 West Hill
  • 11:30-12 Musser Area
  • 12-12:30 Wengler Area
  • 12:30-1 Griswold Area
  • 1-1:30 Buhl Park Area
  • 1:30-2 Case Ave Area
  • 2-2:30 North Sharon

CANFIELD

The bunny is also making an appearance in Canfield on Saturday thanks to the police department and Images by Mandy.

Police will escort the Easter Bunny through Canfield on Saturday, April 11th, starting at noon.

Young fans will have a chance to watch and wave from the front yards and porches of their homes.
