The State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy and a cancer hospital say patients who no longer need oral cancer therapy drugs can donate them to a new repository for distribution to patients unable to afford such medications.

The State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy and a cancer hospital say patients who no longer need oral cancer therapy drugs can donate them to a new repository for distribution to patients unable to afford such medications.
The board and Ohio State University's Comprehensive Cancer Center - Arthur G. James Cancer Hospital on Tuesday announced formation of the repository program at that hospital's outpatient pharmacy.
The program will accept donations of the unneeded medications from patients, pharmacies, hospitals and nonprofit clinics. They will be dispensed to patients at the cancer hospital. Pharmacists will ensure they're safe to re-dispense to patients needing them.
