Warren Police are trying to figure out how a 22-month old boy could wander from home, across four lanes of traffic in 26-degree weather wearing only a diaper and a pair of pants.

Brittney Hahn, 30, was booked into the Trumbull County Jail Wednesday night after her arrest on a charge of endangering children.

An officer was called to a home on the 2100 block of West Market Street, where a woman said she spotted something running up her driveway at around 10:30 pm.

When she discovered it was a toddler wearing no shirt or socks, she brought the child into her home, called 911, and changed the boy's dirty diaper.

While police were at the home, officers could see Brittney Hahn walking along Vermont Avenue NW.

According to the police report, Hahn was shaking, hysterical, and crying that she couldn't find her son.

After telling Hahn they found her son, they told her she was under arrest.

Hahn told the police she went out of her Vermont Avenue home to talk to the baby's father for about ten minutes. She said she went back inside the home and discovered the child was gone.

The father told police that the toddler has gotten out of the home before and usually goes into the back yard.

The police report says for the baby to get from his home on Vermont to the home on West Market Street, he would have had to walk south on Vermont and cross four lanes of traffic on West Market.

Hahn pleaded not guilty at a video arraignment on the charge Thursday morning.

She is free on a recognizance bond and is due back in court on February 27.

The child is in the car of his father.
