Former Liberty substitute teacher convicted in child porn case

A former substitute teacher at Liberty High School now awaits sentencing after being convicted of encouraging female students to send him nude pictures of themselves.
Judge Wyatt McKay found 33-year-old Michael Mattocks guilty on all counts Wednesday following a non-jury trial that was conducted in September.
Mattocks was first arrested in December of 2017 and was indicted on 10 felony counts of Illegal Use of A Minor In Nudity-Oriented Material or Performance and Pandering Sexually-Oriented Matter Involving A Minor.
According to prosecutors, Mattocks encouraged students ages 15 and 16 to send him nude photos of themselves. In one case the young girl was seen nude on a bed, with stuffed animals nearby.
Mattocks will be sentenced following an evaluation.
Judge McKay has revoked Mattocks' bond while he awaits that sentencing.
