Health Commissioner Pat Sweeney retiring

It's time for retirement for Health Commissioner Pat Sweeney of the Mahoning County Public Health Department.
Sweeney has been with the health department for almost eight years but has spent decades in the business.
"I've been at this work for over 40 years, so I'm 63, I'm quite there, but it's just time, it's time for me," said Sweeney. "I knew personally that I was ready to take the next step in the chapter of life. My own mother was done when she was 57. I'm feeling that it might be time to let some of the young talent here take the next step."
Sweeney said she will remain with the board as long as her services are needed to make sure there is a smooth transition.
"My priority is to make certain that the community is served the best it can be," said Sweeney.
