Warren man pleads guilty to abusing infant
A 34-year-old Warren man pleaded guilty in front of a Trumbull County judge Monday for criminal charges he faced for allegedly abusing his two-month-old daughter at the time.
A 34-year-old Warren man pleaded guilty in front of a Trumbull County judge Monday for criminal charges he faced for allegedly abusing his two-month-old daughter at the time.
David Smith, Sr. was sentenced to seven years for child endangering in connection to the injuries sustained by the infant after she was sent to Akron Children's Hospital for several broken ribs.
Smith was arrested in October 2018 for what investigators say was probable cause due to the severity of the infant's injuries.
According to court documents, Smith Sr. has previously pleaded guilty to child endangering and felonious assault for causing "serious physical harm" to his then seven-month-old son, David, Jr.
He was released in 2011 after serving five years in prison.
