Cortland police escorted a student from Lakeview High School Thursday afternoon after receiving information about a potential threat.
The Lakeview School District launched its initial investigation after receiving information about a potential threat.
School officials say that the matter has now been handed over to the Cortland police department.
Lakeview Superintendent, Velina Jo Taylor, released this statement on Thursday following the student being removed from school:
“This matter was handled quickly with the well-being and safety of our students, staff, and community as a whole as our primary concern,” said Taylor.
21 News has contacted Cortland police to receive more information on the matter, but as of 7:00 pm on Thursday has not received a callback.
