Plaques remember deadly 1985 tornadoes in Niles

Two plaques will be dedicated at the Niles Plaza where one of the twisters came through on May 31, 1985.
One of the plaques bear the names of nine people who lost their lives in Niles.
The memorial is the work of Ralph Delserone who operates Raphael's School of Beauty Culture, now located in the plaza on Route 422.
Hardest hit communities included Newton Falls, Niles, Hubbard, and Wheatland.
Twelve people died, and more than 250 were injured.
One thousand two hundred homes and buildings were destroyed or damaged.
