One day after being placed on administrative leave and banned from school property, a teacher at Boardman High School is found dead.

Shock and grief at Boardman High School over the news that gym teacher Nick Liste was found dead. O

n Thursday, Liste was placed on administrative leave and escorted off school grounds pending an investigation into allegations of inappropriate communications and relations with an 18-year old student.

The case changed abruptly Friday morning when according to police Liste called 9-1-1 and directed them to a railroad crossing in Beaver Township.

"And then we found him along side the train tracks on Pine Lake Road," said Beaver Township Police Chief Carl Frost.

Chief Frost said Liste was living with relatives in North Lima.

"We know that he was at his in-laws house where he and his wife were staying, I understand they were having a new house being built, and he left there with a weapon," said Frost.

According to the Chief a note was found at the house.

People at the high school described Liste as very popular with the students and staff and the grief caused the school to suspend classes so the students could take to the counselors.

Liste was a YSU graduate and kicker on the football team. This was his first year at Boardman High.

Freshman Rees Beckman knew him since his time at the Middle School.

"He was a good guy. A lot of tears today, a hard day probably for everyone in Boardman,"  he said.

A school statement said "We ask for prayers and support from our Spartan family as we are grieving today".
