A Boardman man is facing a slew of charges after police arrested him in a standoff situation overnight involving a woman and her child.
Around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, patrol officers went to Prestwick Drive to search for 58-year-old Donald Tucker.
Police said Tucker had a warrant out for his arrest for domestic violence.
Police found his a vehicle in the apartment parking lot where he lived.
They then spotted him trying to climb out a second-story window.
Tucker ignored officers commands and fled back into the apartment building where there were a woman and a young child inside, according to police.
Boardman's tactical team responded to the scene and there were also negotiators trying to contact Tucker to have him exit the building and surrender.
Police said Tucker eventually came out of the apartment and was taken into custody without incident.
The woman told police Tucker would not let her and her child leave the residence, but were unharmed.
Tucker faces charges of kidnapping, unlawful restraint, domestic violence, inducing panic, resisting arrest and obstructing official business.
