Marketing Director Trish Hrina provided some answers as well as the history behind the hospital.
The Northside building started serving patients back in 1883. In 1929, the building became known as Northside Hospital.
In 1985, Western Reserve Health Care took over the building and added on to the Gypsy Lane Property.
In 1997, Forum Health's name was on the building during a merger with Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
Valley Care Health System then took over the building and other local hospitals in 2011.
The landscape has also seen many changes with new buildings being added to the property.
That includes a $20 million dollar facelift and addition in 2013, and then in 2017, Steward Health Care System took over the 355-bed hospital.
Hrina said there are more than 400 employees at Northside and that Steward Hospitals is dedicated to working with employees to transition them to new positions.
There are currently 200 job openings between Trumbull Regional Medical Center, Sharon Regional Medical Center, and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital, as well as openings at Steward area medical practices.
Steward is also holding two onsite job fairs on August 23 and September 6 to work with Northside employees to help them transition to other sites or pursue other medical jobs within the region.
Hrina said there are also hundreds of open healthcare jobs within this market, and Steward is already working with area employers to help employees find new positions.
