Canfield's Bova Inducted into Northeast Ohio Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame

Former Canfield baseball coach Phil Bova was recently inducted into the Northeast Ohio Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Bova started the Canfield program in 1973 and coached until 1987 before returning as an assistant coach in 1998 through 2001.  His teams had winning records for 13 consecutive seasons and he finished with a mark of 243-119.  Bova's teams won eight sectional and league titles and four district crowns.

In 2011 the baseball field in Canfield was renamed Bova Field in his honor.
