Tuesday afternoon, The Mahoning County Democratic Party organized their own rally in opposition to President Donald Trump.

The theme "Promises Made, Promises Broken" was chanted throughout the rally held near downtown's Central Square.

A few hundred were in attendance for the counter rally with many people carrying homemade signs.

Among the crowd was Mary Celio of Youngstown. Her sign said, "Keep your tiny hands off my health care."

"I've got two sons and four brothers with pre-existing conditions that without the Affordable Care Act would have no ability to have health care at all and that is unacceptable in a rich country like this," said Celio.

Many in attendance expressed concerns over health care. Others were simply fed up with President Trump's comments.

"He just needs to apologize. Almost every time he Tweets he does something that's offensive to someone," said Elsie Dursi of Youngstown.

The counter rally was mainly peaceful. A few in the crowd bumped heads but, sheriff deputies quickly made their presence known and the altercation did not turn physical.

After the counter rally wrapped up around 7 pm, some of the protesters made their way to the Covelli Centre and took their message one step closer to the President.

That's where 21 News found two individuals who said they were throw out of the President's rally and shared with us a picture of one being escorted out by police.

"The people around us saw 'Proud Democrats' on our back and they called over the police. The police didn't say anything to us, they just pulled us out," said Andrew Rikmassaro of Canfield.

In the end, the message from protesters seemed simple. "Go home, quit, give it up. Let someday else take over for God's sake," said Greg Greathouse.
